How Qitone Works
Qitone is broken down during digestion and converted to ketones to rapidly deliver an energy source that lasts hours.

1. In the digestive system
Qitone is broken down in the digestive system into two organic compounds: the C8 medium chain fatty acid (MCT) unique to Qitone, and (R)-1,3-butanediol.

2. In the liver
C8 fatty acid is converted to BHB ketones through the same pathway the body normally uses to make ketones. The butanediol compound is also converted by the liver into BHB ketones, using an alternate natural pathway.

3. In other tissues
C8 is also circulated around the body to enable direct ketone production in other tissues, including muscles and the brain. Ketones can help reduce oxidative stress, which is a contributor to inflammation. BHB supports mitochondrial function, which enhances the efficiency of energy production and reduces the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), molecules that can trigger inflammation.
